"Being a colourist it is so important to have the right tools to work with but it is always my philosophy to make sure the hair remains in good and great condition.
The new blondes that I am using have a new extra cool powder lightener and it has a very important ingredient: anti-yellow molecules. It helps me achieve those beautiful cool blonde tones that have been big in Europe and the US and are going to be huge here this summer. With the anti-yellow molecule it takes any dark warmth out of the hair and gives the hair that lovely cool colour.
I always like referencing Kate Moss and Cameron Diaz as the two women who really epitomise that 'cool' blonde vibe, while Chloe Sevigny is the one who really encapsulates the 'mink' blonde and Kate Hudson is my choice as the 'champagne' blonde queen.
There is a fine line between making your blonde a nice cool blonde and a brassy blonde and you really have to make sure your hairdresser, and then of course your ongoing maintenance, reflects that vibe.
Another huge look that we have been seeing for a while already is the sun kissed blonde. It looks like someone has been on a beach in Europe for the summer and the lightness has just been picked up on the ends of the hair. That is a look that isn't going away yet.
Blonde can be such a simple colour to wear but it is actually one of the most precise hair colours to achieve, so make sure you choose a colourist who knows their blondes!"
