Mastering your look from day to night

Liz Kelsh is the National Australian Make Up Artist for Max Factor. She’s worked with a whole galaxy of star celebs like Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Anniston and Hugh Jackman and has worked alongside Max Factor Creative Director, Pat McGrath at Paris Fashion week as well as working on shows from Stella McCartney to John Galliano . Here, she shares her secrets and shows us how to create three stunning make up looks that will take you from day to night – perfect for those post-work parties.

How To Get A Natural Everyday Look– Something Great For Work

Before you start on this look, you must know that great make up starts with great skin.  Having cleansed and prepped the skin, I applied my favourite foundation that works for everyone - Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation.  The special thing about this foundation is that it has a wet to dry formula with great staying power and a flawless finish, best of all it doubles as a concealer so no more trying to find a good colour match concealer for your foundation.

For a natural everyday look I then applied Masterpiece Colour Precision in Coffee on the eyelid.  Apply directly to the eye and blend - once it sets it will last all day.  Next my all time favourite product False Lash Effect mascara was applied to lashes for maximum fullness.

The key to this natural look is to have all features working in harmony, nothing too dramatic for a natural everyday beautiful look.  To give the finishing touch, I applied Miracle Touch Creamy Blush to the cheeks and also used this for a hint of colour on the lips. The trick with cream blush is to smile and apply blush to the apples of the cheeks then blend. Finally I added a little pan stick shimmer to the cheekbone for a luminous healthy glow

From Day to Night

Now we've mastered great skin and a natural flawless look, you can take this look from day to night with a super easy smoky eye.

First I applied Liquid Line Effect Pencil in Black Fire in feathered strokes to entire lid stopping just short of the crease and along the lower lash line. Then using the blending nib, I smoothed out the lines.  This pencil is absolutely fantastic!!!  It has the intensity of a liquid liner but with the ease of a pencil.  So soft and easy to apply, yet once it sets its there until you take it off with make up remover. Finally I set the eye look with a little Mono Eyeshadow in Midnight.  Smoky eyes with a nude lip is a timeless classic that always looks good.  Or to go a step further, add a statement lip.  I chose Max Factor Lipfinity Liptint in Red Passion,  a must for the party season  - it has great staying power and doesn't come off on your champagne.

Enjoy Liz xxx
