Make Up Tips from Liz Kelsh

Cream blush is a great way to bring life to one’s complexion!  Simply apply to apples of the cheek and blend to the edges.  Always apply cream blush straight after foundation before foundation sets to allow both products to blend nicely.

Avoid messy mascara by applying to bottom lashes first then to top lashes.

For long lasting lip colour, exfoliate lips first, then apply a long lasting lipstick.

For perfect brows, choose a brow pencil that is lighter than your natural hair colour and line along the top of the brow for extra shape and definition.

Apply concealer after foundation, where needed to avoid the full coverage of the concealer being diluted by the foundation.

For super quick simple smokey eyes try a really good smokey eye effect pencil. You need a double ended pencil as it makes smokey eyes a breeze.  First apply one end to the inner corner of the eye then apply the other to the outer corner and blend inwards.  For extra drama also apply the second end to under-eye lash-line.

Spend a couple of minutes massaging your moisturiser into your face before applying your foundation to avoid it being diluted by your moisturiser.

When choosing a foundation apply liberally to your jawline, if it blends easily to invisibility it’s the right colour for you.

The right shade of lipstick should suit your complexion even without foundation so if possible try it without any make up on.

When doing stronger eyes, apply eye make up before foundation,   that way if there are any mistakes under the eye they can easily be cleaned away without cleaning away your foundation with it.
